Software Engineer (m/f/d)

München
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

NanoTemper makes software that runs scientific measurement instruments — used by researchers and biopharma teams to make faster, more confident decisions. The software matters: it sits between precise hardware and the scientists trying to understand complex biology.

You're role:
You will own product features end-to-end: from understanding the requirement, through implementation and testing, to release and maintenance. The current product landscape includes C#/.NET, TypeScript, React, and Python. C#/.NET is an important part of the existing software, while our technology choices continue to evolve with the needs of our products.

You may work across several types of software, including:
  • Control and analysis software for scientific instruments.
  • Instrument backends that support measurement workflows and interact with the devices.
  • Web application components that help users access and work with instrument data.
You will maintain, develop, and take ownership of software in these areas, depending on the product and your experience. You will also work at the boundary between software and hardware — collaborating with embedded engineers where the application talks directly to measurement instruments.
This is a product engineering role. You will be writing code, reviewing it, fixing things that break in production, and improving the pipelines that ship the product.

Your expertise

Required qualifications:
  • Proven track record using C# and .NET
  • Experience with Git
  • Professional experience shipping and maintaining production software, including ownership of software throughout its lifecycle
  • Experience with build pipelines and release processes
  • In-depth experience in automated testing
Preferred qualifications:
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React
  • Familiarity with WPF
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Hands-on involvement in hardware or instrument integration
  • A track record of developing software that interfaces with hardware or measurement devices
  • Background in scientific, laboratory, or instrumentation software

Why us?

Who are you joining?
A team of 8 engineers and 1 product owner. The team has strong engineering foundations and doesn't need to relitigate architecture every sprint — you will find colleagues who want to ship good software and value a teammate who does the same. When we tackle something new, the architecture conversation is open to everyone.

You will work closely with scientists, hardware engineers, and product managers, which means translating between technical and non-technical perspectives is a regular part of the job.

We work in the heart of Munich with excellent public transportation access. We work in a flexible hybrid model. We value regular in-person collaboration, while offering the flexibility to work remotely when it makes sense.

About us

Our vision at NanoTemper is to help create a world where every disease is treatable. What drives us is partnering with scientists to ‘make a difference’ in the world.
With our biophysical instruments we want to push the limits of what is possible for scientific researchers.
The goals are big and audacious. Hence, it requires very innovative ways and a strong team to get there.

Even if we are an expanding global company with more than 200 employees the heart of NanoTemper beats in Munich. This is where our story began and every day we work as one team to make our devices even better.

Our doors are open for talented people excited about the future of scientific research and our vision.
Do you want to make a difference with your daily work and become part of our mission? We are looking forward to get to know you.

But why not let your new colleagues tell you personally what it's like to be part of NanoTemper?
